Copper Coffee Carafe

Copper Coffee Carafe

8″ x  10″  Copper Coffee Carafe is an assemblage in my teapot series, even though this one claims to be a coffeepot. A freestanding sculpture of found objects, it is created of an antique coffee cup, copper pot, beads, wire, candle holder and more.

Service for One

Service for One

11″ x 11″    Service for One is an assemblage piece in my teapot series. The parts pull together as I find them, creating a whole. The silver plate was found in Goodwill; I love the tarnished finish. The teacup was from an antique store, and is full of “tea” comprised of chain and ribbon. The small coffee pot is also from Goodwill, reminiscent of one my grandmother used for years. It is held in the hand of an altered wire picture holder. Together the pieces create a common moment, an intimate happening.

Triple Tea Drop

Triple Tea Drop

13″ x  17″  Triple Tea Drop is an assemblage in my teapot series. This hanging sculpture is my favorite whimsicle tea time piece. The triplet teacups came from Goodwill and the antique yellow tin teapot from my favorite antique mall. The “tea” is made of beads and chain, pouring freely with enough to spare.

Sweet Mocha

Sweet Mocha

10″  x  13″   Sweet Mocha is an assemblage in my teapot series. Upcycling found objects, I create artworks that give a new feel to old things. Here, served on a silvertone tray, a brown ceramic coffee/tea carafe  pours sweet mocha into a delicate tea cup. I love the lines of the carafe and the opposing daintiness of the cup.

Elegant Espresso

Elegant Espresso

8 1/2″ x 10″   Elegant Espresso is an assemblage in my teapot series. I adore this one for the way the base and cup blend so well together. The base is an old candleholder, and gives the work an elegance. The tiny teapot is an antique single serve in brown.

Purple Pleasure

Purple Pleasure

8″ x  8″  Purple Pleasure is an assemblage in my teapot series. I love the romantic feel of this one, from its soft color to the scrollwork base. The silver plate at the bottom is mysterious to me, as it isn’t really a plate, but isn’t a trivet either. The scrolled part was a candleholder. The tiny cup is a sweet espresso cup. Repurposing discarded items is my goal.

Simple Sweetened Tea

Simple Sweetened Tea

6″  x  13″   Simple Sweetened Tea is an assemblage in my teapot series. I love the simple lines and design of the teapot and cup and mouting them to an old spool that I have had for many years (and never known what to do with) seemed right. The piece gives me a nostalgic feeling.

Simple Sweetened Tea

The pouring tea is made from antique dress makers sequins, wire and beads. This piece came together so easily it was like it created itself.

Locomotion Potion

Locomotion Potion

6″  x  15″  Locomotion Potion is an assemblage piece in my teapot series. Created from an antique single serve coffee pot, designed for train passenger use, a metal coil, silver coaster and glass cup, the work is fluid and flowing, hopefully illiciting the thought of motion.

Dark Brew

Dark Brew

8″  x  8″   Dark Brew is an assemblage in my teapot series of sculptures. Using found objects and combining them into something new, this altered art takes recycling to a new level. Upcycling old pieces found at thrift stores, I create objects that will illicit a smile or thought.

Dark Brew is created from an old candleholder, small teapot and china teacup. The tea is created from beads and wire.
