24″ x 36″ Leaves Between the Lines is a mixed media collage. It is made of acrylic and spackle on canvas with tree trunks made of book covers and leaves made of book pages treated with linseed oil and acrylic, and finishing touches of metal leaves coated with bits of book page.
Inspiration for this piece comes from looking out the back door of my studio where the forest behind is at eye level, being up a hill. The autumn colors fill the glass pane and demand attention. Being a literary chick, the materials for this work were easy to imagine. Leaves between the lines of tree trunks, made of lines on pages.
By Heather Brush. Leaves Between the Lines is available for sale, $65.
