Rainy Day Tea

Rainy Day Tea

8″  x  11″   Rainy Day Tea is an assemblage piece in my teapot series. I found this teapot in the Goodwill store and snatched it up before anyone else could buy it. I fell in love with it immediately. It is actually a self warming electric brewer. Yep, you plug it in and a heating element heats your water on your desktop on a rainy day. I adore the design, having grown up in the 70s, with its bold colors and iconic style.

The teapot sits on a pedestal, a simple ceramic candleholder, which sits upon a metal trivet. The cup is a plain one, accepting the simple pleasure of warm water merged with the essence of tea.

Drink Your Milk

Drink Your Milk

5″ x 8″ Drink Your Milk is an assemblage in honor of grandmas and moms everywhere. Created from acquired objects, the piece is simple but appealing. The antique tin cup was bought at an estate sale years ago from an 86 year old woman who told me she’d had it forever and remembered her little brother drinking from it. I’ve always loved it. The creamer is antique as well, but I don’t know the history there. The pouring “milk” is made of sequins and beads.
