Smile for the birdie

Smile for the birdie

SOLD! 5″ x 7″  Smile for the birdie is an assemblage in my bird series. This piece hangs on the wall and was created from found objects.

The camera is an antique Kodak Instamatic. The bird is from a teapot, the photo from an old scrapbook I picked up somewhere. I don’t know the people but I love the way the woman is leaning in to the man. I imagine they are mother and son, smiling for the camera.

It’s sad that most of today’s generation of youth will never know the joy of film cameras, or even, print photos. This piece is a reminder of what we have had.
