Cookies and Milk

Cookies and Milk

8″ x 8″   Cookies and Milk is an assemblage in my teapot series even though it isn’t a teapot at all, but a pitcher. Milk glass speaks of home to me, a bedside table lamp I used to have, cozy nights, reading in bed. And of course, cookies and milk are homeplace goodness.

The antique tray and cup are a set, a luncheon set, that used to be popular for company snacking. The base, holding the pitcher, is created from parts of an old lamp. The “cookies” are glass Ball jar liners and a decorative disc from the same lamp, of bakelite. The “milk” is made of beads, antique sequins, and ribbon.
